Parents: Closing Thoughts
It seems like yesterday that your child learned how to play Candy Land. It’s amazing how simple this game is now! You don’t need to be an expert in order to keep your child safe while playing Roblox or other online games. Even if your child seems more tech-savvy than you, the truth is that you are still the parent. You have lots of knowledge and wisdom that can be applied to all aspects of your child’s life, including technology.
The “rules” of any app, game, or service are very similar. Respect for others and yourself is important. Be mindful of what you post and how privacy settings and security tools can be used to block or report.
Roblox is a great platform to share with kids. This will allow you to get a better understanding of the privacy and security features. You can also help your child to develop critical thinking skills. This will allow them to think critically about their actions and take steps to safeguard their privacy, safety, and security. Your child might be, or will soon become a Roblox expert, so it gives them the opportunity to be the teacher and you the student.
If your kids feel that you are knowledgeable about and have an appreciation for their online games and services, they may be more inclined to share their experiences with you. It’s important that your child has open communication throughout their development. You should also have regular conversations about the appropriate settings for privacy, online time, and what kind of activities they are engaging in. It’s better to have open conversations with your children about their favorite apps and services. They’ll be more willing to help you when they need it and you’ll be more informed about what technology they use.
