You’ve probably heard every reason why Instagram is a fantastic tool for small businesses. Perhaps you’ve even created an Instagram account for personal usage.
However, do you understand how Instagram works and what it takes to set up an Instagram account for your business?
1. Install the app
Instagram is unique among social media platforms because it is primarily a mobile platform.
Once you’ve set up your account, you’ll have a desktop page to look at, but the majority of your activity will take place via the mobile app.
To get the app on your phone, go to the app store and search for it.
2. Pick a memorable username.
With an email address or a personal Facebook account, you can sign up to buy instagram likes.
You’ll be asked to choose a username once you’ve signed up.
Your username will be visible to the public and will be the first thing people see when they search for you on Instagram. Make sure the username you choose is memorable and as similar to the name of your company or organization as feasible.
Instagram will also ask for your entire name when you sign up. You can provide your whole business name here, which will help people locate you using Instagram’s search function.
3. Make changes to your profile.
Instagram allows you to write a 150-character bio about your company. You’ll want to be clear and concise about who you are as a business and what you provide because of the language constraints. You’ll also want to include your location if you serve a local clientele.
Constant Contact uses the bio to explain our objective and to show people what kinds of photographs we post on Instagram:
You can also include a link to your company’s website, which users will be able to view directly from their mobile device.
4. Include a profile photo that is easily recognizable.
The ideal Instagram profile photo will have a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels.
The most crucial thing is that the photo you chose is recognisable to individuals who are familiar with your company. In most circumstances, your company’s logo will be the ideal option.
Only a mobile device can be used to change your profile photo. Instagram allows you to import your logo from Facebook or Twitter if you don’t have it saved on your phone or tablet.
You can also use Instagram to shoot a fresh photo.
5. Do some research
It may not sound pleasant, but you won’t know what content performs well unless you have a strong idea of the types of photographs others are sharing. And, fortunately for you, Instagram research involves less staring at heaps of data while wearing a lab coat and more looking at attractive photographs.
Begin by looking for a company in your field with a sizable Instagram following, a similar target audience, and a high degree of engagement. What do they send most frequently, and when do they send it?
Even though you wish to set yourself apart from the competition, you must be aware of what others are doing.
6. Upload your first image
Now that you’ve completed your profile, it’s time to take your first photo.
Here’s a basic rundown of Instagram’s features:
- To begin, go to the bottom of the screen and click the icon in the centre.
- You can either take a photo by tapping the circle in the middle of the screen, or you can upload a photo by clicking “library” on the bottom left.
- Note: The right-hand “Video” button allows you to record a video of up to one minute.
- You will have the opportunity to crop a photo before uploading it. After that, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of upgrades.
- A number of filters scroll across the bottom of the interface, and you can choose from them. (Double-tap the filter to add a border or change the filter’s strength.)
- You may also use the “edit” button to access a variety of different photo altering options.
- When you’re satisfied with your shot, press the “Next” button in the top right corner of the screen. You’ll be able to add a caption as well as hashtags here.
You can also add tags and give the location a name.
7. Establishing your location
You’ll get a list of previously used places in your general vicinity when you click Add Location.
If you have a physical site, it’s possible that someone has already given it a name. You can name your store, restaurant, or office if it hasn’t been named yet.
The location name will appear in blue after your photo has been shared. When you click on the name of your place, you’ll see all of the photos that have been tagged there. This can be a terrific way to find out what people enjoy about your company and what they want to share about it.
8. Let everyone know you’re on Instagram.
Make use of your existing platforms to inform people that your company is on Instagram.
If you have an email list, you can send out an announcement to your subscribers and ask them to join your mailing list. Constant Contact has an Instagram integration, allowing you to simply post your Instagram photos to your email marketing account.
Make sure to include links to your social media profiles, especially your Instagram, while creating a website.
9. Obey others.
The search option on Instagram makes it simple to find people and brands to follow.
You can look for hashtags that are related to your industry or search by username.
Following more people and businesses is a terrific way to meet new people and get ideas for your Instagram account.
You’ve created your account, understood the basics, and discovered the proper people to follow; now it’s time to start developing an Instagram presence for your company.
Engaging with the people who follow you on Instagram is an important part of growing an audience. You’ll get a notification if someone likes or comments on your photo.
You can respond to someone in a photo’s comments by using the “@” sign followed by their username.
When someone tags you in a photo, you’ll get a notification. On your Instagram profile, you can see all of the photographs in which you’ve been tagged.
